Description
This administration and communications facility is one of only three similar Air Force facilities outside the United States. The single-story, mission-critical facility is operational 24/7 and is located on a 13-acre secure airfield site with a network of 20 decagon SATCOM relay structural pads surrounding it. Each pad includes hardscape utilities and underground conduit connectivity to the main facility, with breakout panels, connections and access roads within the secure perimeter. Mission operations are supported with a SCIF, protected distribution system for SPIRNet communications, secure work areas, intrusion detection system and antiterrorism/force protection measures. The facility was designed in accordance with UFC 1-200-02, High Performance and Sustainable Building Requirements, and is anticipated to achieve LEED Silver certification.
