Trusted to perform despite challenging restrictions, RLF delivers a unique mission-critical facility.

Description

This mission-critical administration and communications facility is one of only three worldwide. The project required an in-depth familiarity of the client's mission, knowledge of inside/outside plant operation and a keen understanding of the complex equipment and systems. Much of this information is classified, and requirements could be only partially disclosed during design. The RLF team was trusted to deliver this project without having full access to these critical design details and proved to be a highly capable partner.

The facility consists of highly sophisticated communications systems, data equipment and infrastructure for operations as well as 12 unmanned aircraft system satellite communications (UAS SATCOM) relay structural pads and foundations with access roads, utilities, underground conduit connectivity and breakout panels/connections. Facilities include space for squadron operations, administration and maintenance functions. The design incorporates energy-efficient conservation and generation measures, including solar power and high-efficiency chillers that significantly reduce the large energy footprint generated by the equipment within the facility. These strategies also help reduce operating costs and significantly reduce greenhouse gas emissions, resulting in a carbon neutral footprint with an overall payback of less than five years.
