Serving the Central Florida community, Winter Park Memorial Hospital’s Baby Place is recognized as the “boutique” obstetric hospital and is renowned for the expertise of its obstetricians. The 108,000-sq-ft phased tower addition provides additional space for the hospital’s obstetrics program, while offering the most advanced care available in a nurturing, boutique-hotel environment. Its architectural character reflects the vision and mission of the Baby Place by providing a traditional, hospitality-oriented environment for both patient and community.

Built on a tree-lined campus, the design uses traditional Spanish and Italianate forms with simple arched ways, punched openings and tile roofs. Thick battered walls accentuate the base of the building, with tall first floors, and loggias and colonnades incorporated below. There is thoughtful attention to detail such as the expansive windows throughout the facility that capture the panorama of the oak-shaded, brick-paved streets of Winter Park – providing a perfect picturesque backdrop to the birth experience. The use of calming, rich colors throughout the interiors of the facility create a comforting sanctuary where mom and baby can feel relaxed and refreshed. an feel relaxed and refreshed.
