US Air Force Clinic Replacement

LOC: MacDill AFB, FL | GSF: 230,000 Clinic / 14,000 Pharmacare

As part of a military-wide initiative to move away from costly inpatient services and streamline healthcare, the new 254,000-sq.-ft. “super clinic” at MacDill replaces the base’s mid-century eight-building medical complex. The full-service clinic provides an array of services, including dental care, an imaging department with MRI and CAT scan, physical therapy, cardiology and internal medicine. The clinic consists of three levels of outpatient services and freestanding pharmacare structure, with a central lobby and courtyard. Functions are arranged into three wings, pin-wheeling around an interior courtyard. On average, the new clinic is expected to see 300 to 350 patients a day.

“RLF’s design of the replacement clinic at MacDill Air Force Base exemplifies our continuing focus on quality facilities and work environments for our people.” – Leonard A. Patrick, Colonel, USAF
