US Army Enhanced Health Services Center

LOC:Vicenza, Italy | GSF: 135,688 |CERTS: LEED-NC Silver

The new Enhanced Health Services Center at Vicenza uses classic architecture to create a true community-based medical facility that makes patients feel at home and comfortable about their healthcare experience. Combining artful design with quality care, the two-story building features Palladian elements in form and detail with exterior walls formed in cast-in-place concrete, a stucco finish, and punched openings for windows and doors. Palladio was one of the most influential architects in European history designing churches, villas, and community buildings throughout northern Italy. Natural light, a large central courtyard, hand-painted marble tiles, and colorful frescos of local villas capture the spirit of Italy and brighten the building. Comforting and soothing colors accented with rich colored walls bring contrast and classic appeal to interior spaces. Terrazzo floor patterns help emphasize the public access areas, highlight reception desks, and further enhance the architectural signature of the building.
