Lake Highland Preparatory Middle School Renovation

LOC:Orlando, FL | SRVC: A/E/I

This unique adaptive reuse project revitalized the former North Park Baptist Church in Orlando creating a separate and distinctive campus for the middle school of Lake Highland Preparatory School. Now known as the Charles Clayton Campus, this 3-1/2-acre site is separate, but in close proximity to the school’s main campus. The project preserved the church’s historic landmark façade, which has been a community landmark since 1960, while thoroughly updating and refurbishing the property. The school serves 400 students with 17 classrooms, four science rooms, two computer labs, a media center, a wood-floor gymnasium, locker rooms and an art room. The former sanctuary now provides auditorium seating for 740 people for lectures, music and drama productions, and student gatherings.
