An Educational Campus 50 Years in the Making

While RLF has built a solid reputation creating high-performance learning environments, the new K-12 campus in Sigonella, Italy presented significant challenges forcing designers to think outside of the box. Not only were the new facilities to be built within an existing mid-century complex, the project also needed to be built while maintaining school operations, adhere to both foreign and U.S. codes, and meet the security demands required in today’s world. More importantly, the project needed to embody the client’s educational mission and vision while embracing the surrounding region’s culture and heritage.
